One thing that gives me pause with this surge of Brown women returning to our spiritual roots is the focus on the external: casting love potions, putting people in jars, attempting to put roots on others.

For all that energy on changing others, I see almost zero emphasis on healing one's Self.  

What if you used that same energy to stop feeling guilty for your past?

What if you finally freed yourself from perfectionism?

What if you sought healthy relief from your anxiety?

What if you were no longer hostage to the shoulds and supposed to's?

What if you were deeply, madly, unapologetically in love with yourself FIRST?
